Krewe of Dolly's Dolly Parton's 80th Birthday Party
The Krewe
of Dolly gathered on January 18 in the afternoon to celebrate a true icon,
Dolly Parton, for her 80th birthday with their aptly themed Record-Breaking
'80s event.
Despite
temperatures dipping into the low 40s, the cold didn't hinder the celebration.
Instead, everyone adapted, bundling up in fur, layers, and plenty of fun,
Dolly-inspired style.
The look
of the day wasn't about flashy costumes; it was about channeling Dolly's
signature glamor. Big hair, bold makeup, rhinestones, boots, and confidence
ruled the crowd, with each outfit offering its own nod to the legend being
celebrated. The energy stayed high all afternoon, with people clearly happy to
be out together and honoring an artist whose influence spans generations.
Dolly-themed
cocktails flowed freely, including crowd favorites The Jolene, Nine to Five,
and Smoky Mountain Rose. Food trucks kept everyone fed, while glitter booths
added an extra layer of sparkle for those who wanted to lean in just a little
more.
Music
anchored the celebration across two stages, giving the event its heartbeat.
Amanda Shaw headlined the Oak Street Stage, while River Eckert brought the
party to the Maple Leaf Stage, keeping the bundled-up crowd moving, dancing,
and lingering longer than the weather might have suggested.
The Krewe
of Dolly once again delivered a well-executed celebration that blended music,
style, and community, honoring Dolly Parton's 80th birthday in a way that felt
authentic, joyful, and unmistakably New Orleans.
