Dance the Night Away at Krewe du Vieux's Vieux Doo
Party with Krewe du Vieux and celebrate the contributions of Jan Ramsey to New Orleans music and culture at this year's Vieux Doo Ball.
The event, which occurs right after Krewe du Vieux's parade, will be on February 4 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and will take place at The Sugar Mill, located at 1021 Convention Center Boulevard.
The ball will celebrate the work and accomplishments of Krewe du Vieux's 2023 Queen Jan Ramsey, who has been OffBeat Magazine's publisher for more than 30 years. According to nola.com, Ramsey was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2022 and there is a GoFundMe for her that was launched by filmmaker Michael Murphy.
There will be plenty of live music for attendees to enjoy at the event. The two main acts who will be performing are The New Orleans Suspects, with special guests John Papa Gros and George Porter Jr., and The Pocket Chocolate, with special guests Dana Abbott and Black Quick.
In addition, food trucks and a cash bar will be available for guests to enjoy. People must be 21 years and older to attend the ball and everyone is encouraged to show up in costume.
