Drag Queen Kickball Fundraiser
Kaleidoscope Theatre Company, the city's newest queer theatre collective, announced a unique camp competition as their first fundraising event.
Drag queens from across the city will step up to the plate, all glitzed, glammed, and big wigged for Drag Queen Kickball. Sports and entertainment are set to collide for this unconventional fundraiser on April 19 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the New Orleans City Park Field 1, Tad Gormley Baseball Field.
As the theater company's first fundraising effort, they wanted to incorporate the celebratory, inclusive, and unexpected culture that the company fosters. Kaleidoscope's founder Aaron Brewer explained in a press release, "Drag and sports might seem to be at odds with one another, but both thrive on performance and energy, so why not combine them into something totally unique and hilarious?"

While the specific line up of drag queens that will be featured in the event have not been specifically announced yet, the event is guaranteed to be a sparkle-studded competition filled with laughter, stilettos, and fun. The proceeds from the event will go towards supporting Kaleidoscopes' first theatrical season, where they plan to feature adaptations of classical works, modern queer plays, and new works by LGBTQ+ playwrights. Don't miss out on this fun event featuring food, drinks, a raffle, and a high-energy showdown in beautiful City Park.
