The annual French Market District's Boo Carre Halloween Haunt is happening this Saturday, Oct. 15 in Dutch Alley from 10 to 4 p.m, and will feature live music, trick-or-treating, children's activities, as well as a Second Line featuring the All For One Brass Band. The event is free and open to the public, and trick-or-treating supplies will be provided to children on a first-come first-serve basis.
Free Tote Bags for Trick-or-Treaters
Children who participate by wearing a costume will be able to receive a free Boo Carre tote bag to carry their items around as they trick-or-treat in the French Market District. There is a limit of one bag per child, and will be provided while supplies last.
Johnette Downing
Johnette Downing, a Louisiana native and multiple-award winning singer, composer, author and poet, will be performing songs from her new album "Jumpin' Jitters" at the Dutch Alley Performance Pavilion from 11 to 11:45 a.m.
Bamzy Baby Productions
Bamzy Baby Productions, a group which aims to help children develop critical thinking and problem solving skills through the use of interactive color and activity books, will be at Boo Carre starting at 11:45 a.m.
All for One Brass Band
The All For One Brass Band, which has been known to participate in events around New Orleans such as weddings, bachelor or bachelorette parties, and corporate events, will be performing the event's Spooky Second Line through the French Market District for Boo Carre starting at 12:30 p.m.
