Free NOLA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to rescue victims of human sex trafficking. Free NOLA focuses on the Gulf Coast region, raising awareness about trappings that could happen at festivals, sporting events, and different conventions in the area. One way the organization raises money is by hosting its annual Love & Roses Gala.
The gala will include live and silent auctions, artist booths, food, and beverages. An educational video will be shown to those in attendance as well, allowing guests to see how one rose could alter a victim's life.
"The most important part of the work we do is to bring awareness of domestic sex trafficking to the forefront. What you do with this information is vital. Apathy is awareness without action," Free NOLA Executive Director Diane Amos stated.
All of the funds generated from the event will go towards raising awareness about human trafficking, along with educating people in the local community who could come into one-on-one contact with victims. These people include hospitality personnel, motel staff, and health care workers. Training seminars and presentations are also given to different groups in the community to teach people about how they can help solve the problem of human trafficking.
The Love & Roses Gala will take place on Friday, July 30 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Harbor Center at 100 Harbor Center Blvd. in Slidell. Both cocktail attire and dressy casual attire are welcome at the event.
Ticket prices are $75 for a single ticket or $100 for a pair of tickets. There is also the option to become a Peach, Pink, White, Yellow, or Red Rose Sponsor. Depending on the sponsorship level selected, you could receive more tickets to the gala, hand-painted drinking glasses, art prints, and a banner advertisement. All tickets will be issued at the door of the event.
