From the same minds who produced the Top Taco food competition in 2021 comes 2022's Food Fight!

This May 26 at Crescent Park, over 50 of the city's best chefs and bartenders will clash in an epic battle for the distinction of being crowned best in show. Many will enter, but only five culinary craftsmen and mixologists can be judged as the best in their respective categories: Traditional Dish, Creative Dish, Vegetarian Dish, Classic Cocktail and Creative Cocktail. Judges have yet to be selected, but if Food Fight's predecessor event is to be any indicator, the criteria for receiving "top" accolades will be very high indeed.

Thus far, the cuisine on offer will be sourced from the following participating restaurants: Besame, Boucherie, Emeril's, Gris-Gris, Johnny Sanchez, Josephine Estelle, Meril, Misa, Otra Vez, Palm & Pine, Saint John, Silk Road, with many more to come soon. Spirit selections will come from familiar brands like Hendrick's and Jameson, as well as from local breweries and distilleries like Lula and Who Dat . Aside from the food vendors, there will also be three live performances by New Orleans acts Trixie Minx, James Andrews, and the Honey Island Swamp Band.

All ticket holders will be able to peruse the grounds at their leisure, as well as enjoy unlimited food, drink, and spirit tastings. Those with 1st Tasting reservations get in an hour ahead of general admission, while those who purchase VIP passes will gain access to additional premium services like gourmet desserts and spirits, plus even more chefs and entertainment options.

Proceeds from this event will go to the PLEASE Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to providing at-risk youth with mentorship, leadership training, and scholarships to attend local college-preparatory high schools. Since 2014, PLEASE and its donors have been able to boast a 100% success rate at getting their students accepted into higher education.

Doors open May 26 at 6 p.m. at Crescent Park in the Bywater. Tickets are on sale here; attendance limited to those 21 years of age and older. After party details TBD.
