Friday Night Fight's 50th Show Anniversary: Part III

First, don't miss Friday Night Fights's 50th Show Anniversary: Part III on May 20 at the Freret Street Boxing Gym. Come out to the ring and watch as boxers put on a jaw-dropping show of old-school boxing. In true New Orleans fashion, it'll also feature dancers, burlesque and drag performances, DJs, and crowd contests. Don't forget to bring your own bottle! The show starts at 7:00 p.m.

The Smashing Pumpkins Live at Champions Square

Next up, catch The Smashing Pumpkins live at Champions Square on May 20. Based in Chicago, this cutting-edge rock band takes rock music to new heights. It's led by Billy Corgan, a guitarist and songwriter who mixes goth rock with dream pop elements. Guitarist James Iha, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, and guitarist Jeff Schoeder are also in the band. So far, the band has won two Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, and eight MTV Video Music Awards. Their concert starts at 8:00 p.m.

NOLA Motorsports Park

Do you have a family member who loves motor racing? Head on over to NOLA Motorsports Park for the first-ever Fanatec GT World Challenge. Powered by AWS, this race weekend will feature Mercedes-AMG, BMW, Ferrari, and other supercars. There will also be action-packed activities throughout the weekend such as go-karting, autograph sessions with race-car drivers, and a grid walk on Sunday. VIP guests will also have access to the GT Paddock Club where they'll enjoy premium food service, alcohol, indoor and outdoor spaces, and private parking. Bring the whole family!

Bayou Boogaloo

Come to Mid-City to celebrate Louisiana at the Bayou Boogaloo. It hosts four stages dedicated to some of the city's most popular music genres such as jazz, blues, and zydeco. Local bands such as Dragon Smoke, Big Fun Brass Band, and Michot Melody Makers plan on performing at the festival. There will be delicious grub, talented artists, an outdoor marketplace, activities for the whole family, and a lounge for VIP members. It'll also be the perfect weekend to go boating and rafting on Bayou St. John with hundreds of festivalgoers! The festival will take place from May 20-22.

Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals

Finally, bust a move at the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals on May 20-22. Join hundreds of the city's top dancers as they battle for a spot in the World Finals. Watch as runners-up face off Nick Fury, Tyler, the Creator, Lily Frias, and other world-class dancers at the House of Blues on Saturday. Winners of pre-finals will go to the national in Generations Hall on Sunday and show the audience their moves. The winner will go to the World Finals in Johannesburg in December. Workshops, showcases, second-line performances, and a runway will be spread out throughout the weekend.
