Father John Misty is Still Growing

Joshua Michael Tillman, better known by his stage name, Father John Misty (FJM) played to a packed house over the weekend at the Orpheum Theater. This was Tillman's fifth time playing New Orleans under the FJM moniker, each venue beforehand a litter smaller, starting off at One Eyed Jacks. As his popularity gained strength, he graduated to the Civic Theater, and now the Orpheum, and it is a good thing, because his touring band is massive. The band took covered the entire stage, which is no small feat.

In April of this year, FJM released Chloë and the Next 20th Century, and the subsequent tour took the name. The set was highlighted by that album as well as God's Favorite Customer. It also included material off his other three albums, just not to that great of an extent. Tillman feels at home on the stage and enjoys interacting with his audience, giving side stories about the songs he played whenever he could. The show was streamed live, so the world could watch along. You can see more pictures here.
