It's time to dust off your dancing shoes and hit the floor for Krewe of BOO!'s third annual Halfway to Halloween Dance Off!

Back in 2007, Krewe of BOO! became the Crescent City's official Halloween parade and has only grown into its spooky charisma and popularity since then. With beautifully macabre floats and sculptures designed by the world-renowned Kern Studios, the Hallow's Eve parade draws worldly visitors and New Orleans' natives, alike, out each year for their spooktacular jamborees. Thankfully, the fun doesn't have to stop in October!

This Saturday, May 21, twenty New Orleans' Dance Krewes from both Carnival and the Krewe of BOO! will come together to compete with elaborate dance routines and extravagant costumes, all while overlooking the Mississippi River. Monster Energy will be fueling the talented competitors, and the Krewes will enthusiastically show off their moves to the public and an array of mysterious celebrity judges.

Entrance to the event is free, and all are more than welcome to watch, cheer, and have some fun at this family-friendly kickoff. Festivities begin at the Spanish Plaza at Riverwalk at 2:00 p.m. and go till 5:00 p.m., with beverages and food available for purchase and playful giveaways to the partygoers. Along with the Dance Krewes, live DJ music is promised to set the tone for the Dance Off, and New Orleans' very own Skinz N Bonez will show off their drumming skills in a performance like no other.

Krewe of BOO!'s Chief Spookster and Dance-Off founder, Brian Kern, can only attest to all that the event has to offer: "The Halfway to Halloween Dance-Off lets the public see many of the region's dance and marching groups perform together, and we think it's a great event to get a taste of the creativity and sense of fun and community that is a part of every troupe."

If you want a taste of what New Orleans has to offer, mark your calendars for this Saturday. You won't want to miss this!
