Cyril Neville & The Soul Junction Tour
Cyril Neville is an iconic New Orleans-based singer, songwriter, and percussionist who has been a part of some of the most renowned R&B and funk bands of the 60s and 70s. Known as the "Uptown Ruler," Neville has only gotten better with age with a career that spans generations and having been the recipient of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
This year, Neville is bringing his New Orleans pizazz all over the western U.S. with The Soul Junction Tour, Celebrating Mardi Gras Across America. Starting in early February and continuing till the end of the month, the tour is stopping in Colorado, California, Washington, and more.
This is an amazing opportunity for non-New Orleanians to experience the sounds and fun vibes of Mardi Gras!
The Meters Tribute with King Youngblood
The tour will kick off with a stop in Beaver Creek, Colorado, on February 5. This is a tribute show to the Meters with George Porter Jr., the former bassist of the band, making a special appearance. They will be joined by Dumpstaphunk, a New Orleans funk band from the early aughts.
Cyril, along with Omari Neville and The Fuel, is touring with King Youngblood, an alternative rock band from Seattle. As a band, they are focused on spotlighting Black musicians in the rock space and beyond. Their first album, which is self-titled, was released in 2019, and they have a new album releasing in February of this year. More information can be found at kingyoungblood.com/about-us.
Last year, Cyril Neville and King Youngblood headlined Black and Loud Fest, which is a festival centered around uplifting Black artists. Starting in Seattle in 2022 and continuing last year during French Quarter Fest in New Orleans, this is a truly special musical performance.
