Colorful tribes of Mardi Gras Black Masking Indians convened and faced off at 2nd and Dryades Streets Fat Tuesday afternoon. The pretty Indians, including The Wild Tchoupitoulas, were preceded by their Spy Boys and Flagboys, literally clearing a path for their Big Chiefs among the shoulder-to-shoulder fans outside the neighborhood's Sportsman's Lounge.

The processions began around 1:30 p.m., but as more tribes entered, the intersection, excitement, music, and dancing grew, with more people flowing into the intersection straight from the Zulu and Rex parades blocks away.
