New Restaurant Crack'D Open in Lower Garden District
Crack'D Brunch Restaurant is a new breakfast, brunch, and lunch eatery in New Orleans' Lower Garden District, located on 1901 Sophie Wright Pl., just off of Magazine Street. The restaurant is the latest culinary venture by locally-owned OnePack Hospitality restaurant group, led by Chef Joshua Wetshein.
As soon as patrons walk through the door, they are greeted by a welcoming staff in a bright space illuminated with natural light pouring in from floor-to-ceiling windows and with a disco ball sparkling in the center of the room. The interior is uniquely decorated, featuring a combination of classic elements and modern touches, such as the tongue-in-cheek neon sign reading, "I GOT CRACK'D IN NOLA." Much like the menu, the interior design reflects a blend of traditional and bold contemporary elements.
The menu at Crack'd Brunch offers a mix of classic sweet and savory brunch staples with adventurous flavors designed to encourage sharing among diners. Diners can share a savory smoked salmon rosti and indulge in a simple short stack of pancakes topped with fresh berries.
The menu also boasts being pork free with a duck bacon alternative, as well as offering gluten-free and vegetarian options.
This theme of combining brunch classics with bold twists extends to the drink menu as well. Guests can savor fan favorites like bottomless mimosas or opt for a refreshing cold brew-tini, perfectly complementing the diverse culinary offerings at Crack'D Brunch.
The grand opening drew a vibrant crowd of Garden District locals, NOLA food bloggers, and newly elected State Representative Mandie Landry. Landry spoke about the crucial role that local businesses and restaurants play as the community's backbone.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was complete with biodegradable confetti welcoming the new brunch spot to the neighborhood.
