Halloween is coming up fast and everyone needs something to do on the scariest night of the year. Luckily, both Bar Marilou and Three Keys have just the events for anyone looking for some scary good fun.
First, Bar Marilou, located at Maison de la Luz on 544 Carondelet St., is hosting a special themed celebration, called Halloween at Camp Marilou: Flashers & Slashers with Scream Queens & Serial Killers, on Halloween night from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Not only can guests enjoy dinner and drinks, there will also be a show featuring themed burlesque and drag performances, card readings, sword swallowing, and more.
The show will be hosted by Elle Dorado and will feature performers Aria Delanoche, Ariana Amour, Gigi Deluxe, Juno, Madonnathan, Mamie Dame, and Vivi Noir. Tickets for this event are $75 per person and they can be purchased at eventbrite.com.
Next, Three Keys, located at Ace New Orleans on 600 Carondelet St., will be hosting the Soul Sister's Haunted B-Movie Marathon starting at 2 p.m. on Halloween day. The movies that will be featured in the marathon are Blacula, Dr. Black and Mr. Hyde, Sugar Hill, and Disco Godfather.
The marathon will be presented and hosted by DJ Soul Sister, who also curated all of the movies for the event. According to Three Key's press release, DJ Soul Sister is described as an avid collector of Black movies and "midnight movies" from the 1970s.
The movie marathon is free, with
