A French Celebration

This year's Bastille Day Fete, hosted by the Alliance Française de la Nouvelle-Orléans, will take place on July 12.

This event is a celebration of French culture and honors the Storming of the Bastille in Paris on 1789, which is seen as the catalyst for the French Revolution. Another purpose of this celebration in New Orleans is to preserve the city's French history and customs. It has become one of New Orleans' biggest and most well-liked cultural events throughout the years.

About the Event

The event will take place at the Alliance Française de la Nouvelle-Orléans, located at 1519 Jackson Ave., on July 12 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The price of tickets is $15 at the door, $10 for non-members, and $5 for Alliance Française members.

All participants will be entertained by many live music performances, dancers, and other entertainers. Featured entertainment for this year's Bastille Day Fete will be Pardon My French with Anna Quinn, a silent disco hosted by Dohm Collective, Les Rebelles, and a French-style costume contest.

The wide variety of delicious foods served during Bastille Fete will be an additional highlight for the occasion.

The Bastille Fete coordinators are aware of how critical it is to serve families with young children. There will be many child-friendly events at the festival, such as face-painting and games of all kinds. Families can celebrate and make treasured memories as a result.

Tickets for Bastille Day Fete can be purchased through af-neworleans.org/bastille2024 or by calling (504) 568-0770.
