"Take a Number"
The Bacchus Rendezvous is integral to the city's annual Carnival festivities, hosted by the Krewe of Bacchus in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
The Krewe of Bacchus is one of the most renowned Mardi Gras krewes in New Orleans, known for its elaborate floats, celebrity monarchs, and a grand parade that ends inside their formal ball: the Rendezvous.
Celebrating 55 years, the krewe was founded in 1968 and quickly gained fame, becoming one of the city's most popular krewes with one of the most popular parades happening the Sunday before Fat Tuesday.
Ending their celebration at the ball, this year's theme was "Take a Number." Some stunning floats included the James Bond 007, Cruella De Vil and her 101 Dalmatians, and The Three Little Pigs.
This year's King of Bacchus was Entourage actor and Emmy nominee Kevin Dillon. Some of the best throws were the signature cups, light-up beads, and fancy socks, with each float having its own unique socks to throw.
The main musical guest of the night was the
world-famous band Chicago.
