Crescent City Classic (CCC) will host its second-annual Allstate Sugar Bowl Christmas in
Lafreniere Park Run/Walk
on Saturday, December 11 at 3 p.m., marking its first in-person event of 2021
in Jefferson Parish. People and families of all ages are invited to participate
in this two-mile event while donned in holiday costumes.
"The
Christmas in Lafreniere Park Run/Walk is the perfect holiday family outing,"
CCC Race Director Eric Stuart said. "You get to do your workout with the race
and then take in some holiday cheer with access to Lafreniere
Park's light tour
all for a great value."
Participants
will race (or stroll) through a wonderland of cheerful displays, twinkling
lights, and lavish decorations spread throughout the park. Festive activities
such as face-painting, pictures with Santa, and hot chocolate will be available
before and after the race. In addition, participants will get a free driving
tour of Lafreniere Park's Holiday Lights Display and the upcoming Pavilion
Island after the race.
Registration will take place online and in
person. General admission is $30 until midnight on Saturday, December 4 and $35
from Sunday, December 5 until the day of the race. Kids 3-10, military members,
and veterans will receive a $5 discount off entry. All participants will
receive a free, long-sleeved race shirt, a race bib, and early access into
Lafreniere Park's light tour.
