Pokémon, I Choose You!
Building on the success of their tournament event in June 2024, the New Orleans Ernest M. Morial Convention Center and New Orleans & Company are joining forces again with Pokémon International Championships to bring the 2025 Pokémon Championship Series to the Big Easy from June 13 to 15, 2025.
Gamers and fans can expect opportunities to connect with fellow Pokémon elites from around the globe and test their battle skills in trading card games, video game championships, and Pokémon GO. Players who advance to the championship series are eligible to compete for prize money and score the acclaimed international championship title.
"This is an incredibly fun event with three Convention Center halls decked out in gaming stations, fan zones, and tournament play. It is a truly a captivating and technically innovative experience for gamers and Pokémon fans of all ages," Convention Center President and CEO Michael J. Sawaya said in a press release.
A Big Win for the Big Easy
With the 2024 North American Pokémon International Championship drawing 10,000 participants to New Orleans for up to three days, the 2025 event promises to bring the same number of Pokémon enthusiasts from across the globe to the Big Easy.
The chance to host this globally acclaimed tournament is a prime example of how New Orleans & Company and the Convention Center continuously team up to market New Orleans as a destination that is built to host events, perpetually benefitting New Orleans' economy and uplifting the tourism industry.
