Southeast Beach Express, an airline connecting Baton Rouge to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach in Alabama, will begin its flying operations on June 3, 2021.
Flights will depart from Signature Flight Support at the Baton Rouge Metro Airport on 9430 Jackie Cochran Dr. for a round-trip fare of $490, tax and fees included. The air service will operate direct flights in 30-seat business jets on a daily schedule from Thursday through Sunday. Total flight time is under 1 hour. Aside from Baton Rouge, Southeast Beach Express will also provide flights to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach from Atlanta and Nashville.
"We developed Southeast Beach Express to meet the demand for
quicker and more convenient access to Gulf Coast Beaches, specifically Gulf
Shores and Orange Beach," Jay Taffet, founder of Southeast Beach Express, said.
"Travel time with us is a fraction of the time spent in the car during the peak
summer season, especially with the traffic congestion on I-10 and the beach
access roads that can turn a manageable trip into a day in the car! Modern
travel should be quick, hassle-free, and affordable, and we think we've
achieved that with Southeast Beach Express."
The air service will feature airline-style travel booking and passenger support, along with all the amenities of private air such as executive terminal departures/arrivals, easy security screening, 15-minute pre-boarding show times, and zero-cost luggage.
Alabama's Gulf Coast is among the top beach vacation destinations in America, with over 6.5 million visitors annually. Southeast Beach Express has partnered with travel agency Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism in order to capitalize on this and optimize the vacation travel experience.
"Our area has long been a favorite destination for people from surrounding drive markets," Herb Malone, president and CEO of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Tourism, said. "During peak summer season, that often means traffic backups and delays along the interstate routes to the beach. Southeast Beach Express flights servicing three key markets - Atlanta, Nashville, and Baton Rouge - is a great way to attract visitors wanting a quicker way to Alabama's beaches."
Southeast Beach Express is operated in full by Ultimate Jetcharters, an FAA-approved public charter operator that has been flying its own air routes for over a decade and has won the highest safety accreditations in the industry. All Ultimate Jetcharters flights are listed online through third-party booking sites and its passenger security program complies with TSA regulation.
