After a long wait, Louisiana will finally be getting Yeungling beer starting this week.

The oldest brewery in America, D.G. Yeungling and Son distributes its beer in 18 states and the District of Columbia, according to The Advocate.  It has been made in Pottsville, Pennsylvania since 1829, and has recently expanded out at its Tampa, Florida brewing location.

Yeungling’s light lager, as well as their black and tan varieties, will be made available initially, and the IPL will follow later in the year.

Due to its low price and high flavor, Yeungling has grown a substantial fan base as a more flavorful alternative to American classics like Budweiser and Miller.

Although it began in the northeast, Yeungling will be bringing its brews to Louisiana beginning the week of August 1.
