The Willie Mae's Grocery & Deli location on St. Charles Ave. (7457 St. Charles Avenue) has officially shut its doors to city. The original establishment has been a staple of southern cuisine, serving up America's Best Fried Chicken, as rated by the Food Network. In the fall of 2014, Willie Mae's decided to bring its delicious fried chicken to Uptown residences. Unfortunately, the location didn't last and the restaurant has yet to disclose the reason for the closure. However, the location at 2401 St. Ann St. will remain open.
