Sailor Jerry's party at Chart Room was great for the fact that the bar's regulars were more than welcome to come in too. I loved the Cherry Jerry that harkens back to Norman Keith Collins' (the real Sailor Jerry) life in Hawaii. The Jerry & Ginger came in a cool can-style cup that symbolized his time in the navy. To honor Collins' love of the tattoo arts, a real tattoo artist was on-hand to deliver fresh ink to willing participants.

On the way to the House of Blues, some nice folks from The Pathfinder non-alcoholic spirits pulled me into the truck bed to take a shot of their premiere drink The Pathfinder in a full-on dentist office chair. I'm sure that the locals did not think that was out of the ordinary. Finally at Casamigos tequila's House of Blues event, it was great to have the Voodoo Garden patio tented and air-conditioned for this hot day. One thing that you could do was take a shot out of an ice shot glass then hurl the ice glass at the wall. Although the tequila was perfectly chilled, the sounds of Flow Tribe were hot.

You had to travel way across town to the Josephine to attend Fords Gin's huge event London Dry Radio 86FM. Within minutes, the huge place was packed. Several well-known bars were represented and making drinks with the best gin for cocktails, Fords Gin. I was lucky enough to visit the distillery in London some weeks ago. The kicker for this event was DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown who came out to perform. You may know her better as Erykah Badu. Everyone rushed up front to see her, but I could not make my way through that. Still, the beautiful environment was definitely one to remember.
