When Food Met Music: Chef Nina Compton Partners with Audio Brand Mark Levinson

New Orleans has always been known for great food and great music. Combine the two, and there is no greater recipe for success. Mark Levinson, an American designer for audio equipment, is doing just that! The company is partnering with famous chefs to highlight just how food and music enhance one another. Locally, Levinson has partnered with one of New Orleans's most well-known James Beard Award winning chefs, Nina Compton. Compton is known not only as a James Beard's "Best Chef South" winner in 2018, but also was the recipient of Food & Wine Magazine's "Best New Chefs 2017." She is the proprietor of both Compère Lapin located in the Warehouse District and Bywater American Bistro, where she combines her adoration for French and Italian cuisine.

Mark Levison hopes that its partnership with Nina Compton will show how food and music complement each other. To do so, the brand's first official ambassador program will release four brand new episodes of "Mark Levinson Reveals" to air June 7 through September 20. These new episodes will reveal a deep focus on culinary and musically inspired topics. One of the four episodes will feature Nina Compton, along with famous New Orleans jazz singer Robin Barnes, often called "The Songbird of New Orleans." Together, they will focus on the importance of food and music and the role they play in what makes New Orleans unique.

Additionally, Levinson is also donating $25,000 to the James Beard Foundation's "Open for Good" campaign, whose focus is to assist the restaurant industry which was so severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This foundation will provide invaluable resources to help independent restaurants build back better. Airing August 2, 2021, Nina Compton will go in depth about the donation in her "Mark Levinson Reveals" episode. According to Nina Compton, "The Mark Levinson brand is known for bringing true craftsmanship to transformative sound experiences, which as a chef is something I strive to bring to every dish and culinary experience I create."
