The first annual red beans and rice eating competition is taking place this Saturday at the Fair Grounds Race Course and Slots. The event will be hosted by Major League Eating, and sponsored by Blue Runner Foods.
Major League Eating is the organization that developed competitive eating, and oversees all professional eating contests.
This event will be the first red beans and rice contest hosted by Major League Eating Contestants will have eight minutes to set a new record, with the first place winner receiving 1,500 dollars, second place will receiving 750, third place receiving 350, and the prizes continuing from there 75 dollars for 6th place.
The contest will take place at 3 pm on Saturday, February 8th, 2020, at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, 1751 Gentilly Blvd, New Orleans. Learn more here.
