Firmamento De Amor
Self-released

Firmamento De Amor, the debut EP by Ponchatoula locals Tyler Kinchen and the Right Pieces, starts off right away with a groovy brass line and soothing R&B style vocals on the opening track "Greatest Dimension." This 7-piece fusion group consists of a variety of instruments including piano, bass, guitar, drums/percussion, tenor sax, flute, trumpet, trombone; the music is as gorgeous as the album's ethereal artwork. Songs like "What Must I Do" and "Tell Me Something" sway back and forth from a big city big band theater to a small tropical island club with a Flamenco band. All of the instruments are used effectively and fit the song writing as a whole without going into busy fragmented solos or rushed transitions. This band does keep the danceable vibe strong with the next track "Woman Be Crazy," a Reggae-influenced brass composition that demands your dance floor participation. "To Be Yours" turns left and opens with a slow doo-wop-style R&B beat and vocal delivery, showing again the range of styles this band can deliver. Already this band has played clubs from the venues around Hammond on down to the Hard Rock on Bourbon Street, and is stirring up a good buzz online. Put on your dancing shoes and open your mind to the dimensions that Tyler Kinchen and the Right Pieces will present to you.
