This morning, Endymion founder Ed Muniz announced that country superstar Tim Mcgraw, contemporary rock band Train and classic rock band STYX will provide the soundtrack for the 54th year of the 2020 Krewe of Endymion Parade and Extravaganza!. Endymion is set to roll through the streets of New Orleans on February 22, 2020, 4:15 pm at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center instead of the usual Superdome, which will be undergoing renovations.

A Louisiana native, the three-time Grammy Award winning country artist Tim McGraw is ready to return to his stomping grounds to celebrate one of the most highly anticipated parades of the Mardi Gras season. McGraw is the singer/writer of popular country hits, "Live Like You Were Dying", "Just to See You Smile" and starred in the 2010 film, Country Strong.

Classic rock band, STYX, will return to the Endymion Extravaganza this year with anthemic hits like, "Come Sail Away" and "Blue Collar Man". Additionally, Endymion veterans Train will return for the second time after their 2019 ride as Grand Marshals was cut short by the rain. This Grammy-award winning band is responsible for pop-rock hits like, "Hey Soul Sister", "Drops of Jupiter" and "Marry Me".

Samedi Gras will get the party started at noon on Orleans Avenue between Carrollton and City Park Avenue. With over 50,000 people in attendance, the popular block party will feature music by the Groovy 7, The Topcats and The Bucktown All-Stars. The Endymion Parade will hit the streets at 4:15 on the usual Mid-City route!

The theme for the year is "Historic Dynasties" and will feature floats celebrating famous dynasties in history such as Egypt's 25th Dynasty, France's House of Bourbon and China's Tang Dynasty.

With more than 3,000 members, Endymion is one of the largest and most well-attended krewes in New Orleans, known for its elaborate floats and marching bands. Tickets to the Extravaganza are known to sell out fast, so set a reminder to purchase tickets. If you can't get your hands on tickets, it's still possible to see Tim McGraw, STYX and Train if they decide to ride in the parade!
