BBQ Fun
What could be better than eating copious amounts of barbecue while enjoying the game?
The Ultimate Tailgate Party drew a crowd to downtown Covington's Trailhead on Saturday night, who delighted in enjoying the best of the best from nine barbecue teams vying for the top honors. While you could watch the big LSU Tigers game on the big screen, the attendees were too busy indulging in great, freshly cooked barbecue, savory cocktails, and a stunning silent auction to really keep track of it. Even 4 Unplugged was able to pull people away from the game for dancing under the stars.
After the winners from Saia's, Swinel Ritchie, Knee Deep, Matt's Meats & Eats, Swine Krewe and more were announced and received their trophies, a lively game of Heads & Tails was played for a weeklong trip to the Caribbean before an exciting live auction for barbecues parties at your house raised thousands.
The Exchange Club hosted the 11th annual Ultimate Tailgate Party to raise funds for the child advocacy nonprofit organizations Hope House and CASA. Another beneficiary was Community Church's Turkey Train, providing families in need with free turkey dinners for Thanksgiving.
