Since the pandemic broke out, The Tasting Room has offered hundreds of free lunches to first responders, fire fighters, police officers, military, and medical workers. They also donated 30 bottles of wine and 10 cases of beer and raffled wines to raise $4,000 to donate food, purchased from other local business, to frontline workers.

The Tasting Room is an Uptown wine bar with bar bites from chef Orlando Harris that opened in September of last year.

Owner Christopher Jones made this statement: "We are all in this together—to rebuild and to restore. As a fellow New Orleanian and as a community, we need to support the frontline workers and safely shatter the curve. One day soon enough, we'll share a drink, a meal—together,"

"As restaurant and bar operators, our industry is already feeling the effects," Jones wrote on his business Facebook page in early March. The Tasting Room closed down, "until further notice" on March 20.
