The Revivalists recently released a dual pack album compilation of their previously released record City of Sound. Attached in the pack is a bonus disc of 8 live recorded tracks including five live tracks from Lafayette Square's Harvest the Music series, two from a dynamic performance at Tipitina's and one from their show at The Brooklyn Bowl. This live album is everything to be expected from The Revivalists. There's a vivid picture painted in the mind while listening to this live bonus album. The mix of pedal-steel guitar, rock riffs and jazz horn -funk coupled with the ruggedly soulful and infectious vocals of lead David Shaw brings a unique and surreal dynamic to their live performances. This dynamic recorded on an album comes out to brilliant. The album unifies the perfect collection of tracks, sanctifying the audience with live renditions of hit songs like "Criminal" and "Upright."The live record is sure to only increase their ability to draw large crowds, and sell shows and albums. It's just another successful notch on their music belt.
