This coming Tuesday, May 31, the Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living will be hosting an event in celebration of WHO's World No Tobacco Day. The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. and go till 1:00 p.m. at People's United Methodist Church in New Orleans, located just 5 minutes from the Superdome. The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living plans to center the day on helping tobacco users to quit smoking. The event will feature key resources for those struggling with tobacco usage, and a guest presentation on quitting tobacco products.
For years, the Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living (TFL) has led the fight to stop the spread of tobacco usage in Louisiana and the greater New Orleans' area. Partnering locally and at the state level, TFL works to enact policy efforts in controlling and preventing tobacco usage. Along with that, TFL provides service options to help those struggling to quit smoking, and is working to slow down secondhand smoke exposure throughout Louisiana communities. While the fight against tobacco hasn't been easy, TFL is making strides for a better future for both our generation and those to come.
The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living's event is free to the public, and all are welcome to come together on World No Tobacco Day to support the fight against tobacco. If you or a loved one is struggling to quit smoking, or you simply want to show your support to the initiative, feel free to make an appearance! If you're unable to make it to the in-person event, TFL will also be offering a webinar version of the experience at 2:00 p.m. on May 31. To register online, you can find more information here.
