The Joy Theater has recently announced plans to unveil new interior renovations to their space.

The 1,200 capacity venue, now operated by Winter Circle Productions, an AEG Presents company, has had upgrades to the lobby, concert hall, hospitality spaces, and more.

New acoustic treatment in the main theater was added as well as a new system featuring d&b Audiotechnik Vi8 Line Array speakers to enhance sound. New bars and paint treatments in the venue lobby and balcony have been added in addition to new lighting fixtures, new in-venue signage, and a new theater/main hall curtain track.

AEG Presents, having acquired operating rights to the theater in 2017, invested the capital for the site renovations.

“Through our partnership with AEG, our plans to revive and update the aesthetic and production capabilities have finally come to fruition,” said Reeves Price, VP Operations and Co-Founder of Winter Circle Productions.

The 10,000 square foot venue hosts over 100 events annually, serving as a music and comedy club as well as a theatre for film screenings and space for private events.

“The Joy Theater has great bones and the best sound and sight lines in the city,” said Reeves, “These renovations will make the Joy a must-visit venue; the most proper place of its size to see a show or host an event in the South.”

The venue in downtown New Orleans is a historical spot, having opened in 1947, located on Canal St.
