The Freaks Came Out That Night: Monster Mash

By: Emily Hingle

Immediately after Blaine Kern's popular macabre parade Krewe of Boo, the children shuffle home and go to bed. The adults stay in their costumes and kick it at the Monster Mash. This year, the crazy costumed party took place at the Metropolitan which was just large enough to hold all of the parade's riders, the marching krewes, and those who just didn't want their parade experience to end. I don't think that there was one person in there without a fun, strange, bright, or creative costume on. They loved dancing down to the DJs, but the real treat was watching the 80s band Flock of Seagulls. Yes, they did play their biggest hit "I Ran So Far Away" in case you were wondering.
