Award-Winning Local Chef Honored
Gathering at the Four Seasons Hotel, chefs, eaters, and food enthusiasts came together to celebrate the achievements of Chef Donald Link who received the Ella Brennan Lifetime Achievement in Hospitality Award.
The attendees dined on wonderful dishes provided by top chefs around town. Chef Meg Bickford of Commander's Palace made Meyerquat Pork Belly Rillette, Chef Justin Koslowsky of Chemin a la Mer provided Duck Confit White Bean Pistou and raw Little Moon and Murder Point Oysters, Chef Susan Spicer of Rosedale made Lamb Meatballs, and Chefs Cheps Arvinder and Ashwin Vilkhu of Saffron ladled bowls of Curried Seafood Gumbo. Company Burger, Mrs. Shirley's Chinese Restaurant, La Boulangerie, Herbsaint, Brennan's, and PJ's Coffee were also represented.
Fellow chefs, bosses, and family members regaled the large audience with stories about Chef Donald Link, both inspiring and humorous. The award recipient finally took the stage to thank his supporters without which his accomplishments would not be possible and to discuss the difficult, yet rewarding nature of the restaurant industry. The event was a touching, entertaining, and wonderful tribute to an esteemed culinary expert.
