Mid-City's Broad Theater
announced it will open The Broadside, an outdoor theater space, this week.
The Broad
Theater's interior auditoriums will remain open, but The Broadside will host
outdoor movies, live music, and private events, beginning on Wednesday, October
7, with the 2020 vice-presidential debate. Every ticket to the debate will give
patrons the choice of a free popcorn or drink. Weather permitting (a big
question mark given current events in the Gulf of Mexico), The Broadside will also
feature films this weekend, including the New Orleans cult classic Down by
Law and Alex Gibney's new COVID-19 documentary Totally Under Control.
The
Broadside is located across the street from The Broad Theater on the other side
of Toulouse Street. For more information, visit TheBroadTheater.com.
