The Bayou Road Balloon Festival is back for its 3rd year! At the Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center, this one-of-a-kind festival features hot air balloon rides, a "night glow" balloon show every evening, attractions such as carnival rides and midway games, and what's a festival without live music and food and art vendors?
Running from November 1-3, attendees will enjoy specialties from local restaurants such as Any O'Cajun, New Orleans Cookery, Rosa's Cocina, and Charlie Rhodes Catering. You can expect to taste gumbo, crab cakes, and a ton of fried seafood. Prices range from $6-$15, but all are subject to change. There is a ton of vendors so there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. Current vendors include Cutco Cutlery, Gale's Fancy Faces, and Belabeautee Jewels. Whether you're looking for culinary tools, jewelry, or the kids want a sweet treat and a face painting, there is no shortage of entertainment.
At all festivals, the main attraction is the music, and this festival is no different. This year's lineup is full of diverse acts such as the Sweet Tea Trio, Jonathan "Boogie" Long, Blackwater Brass, and so many more.
What would the Bayou Road Balloon Fest be without balloons? There are many ways to experience hot air balloons at this festival that you won't get anywhere else. Guests are welcome to indulge in the hot air balloon rides, and enjoy the "night glow" balloon show and the balloon basket photo booth which makes for a beautiful photo opportunity. Visit Amanda Miller Realty at the photo booth where pictures will be $5 and all proceeds will go to Jonathan Serigne's family. For more information about this cause and to hear Jonathan's story, visit the Serigne Strong Facebook page.
Festival hours are 4 p.m.-10 p.m. on Friday, 12 p.m.- 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 12 p.m.- 8 p.m. on Sunday. For more information visit bayouroadballoonfestival.com.
