This Thursday, March 22, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Generations Hall will host the 4th annual “King of Crawfish” event. This crawfish-lover’s paradise is sponsored by the Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA). The LRA Greater New Orleans Chapter President Steve Trotter said of the event, “Crawfish season is in full swing, and what better way to celebrate this year’s bounty than with an event that focuses on the most inventive and delicious ways to prepare crawfish?”
Presale tickets are $35 and can be purchased at www.LRA.org, or tickets can be purchased at the door for $40. After tasting all the crawfish delicacies on offer, from etouffée to beignets, attendees will have two chances to cast their vote for their favorites, helping determine who will take home the title of Crawfish King or Queen. “This event, now in its fourth year, will be a fun way to enjoy crawfish, while indulging in the competitive spirit of our local chefs,” Trotter added. “Their creativity will be sure to please everyone’s palate.”
The restaurants competing for the crawfish crown are:
- Bienvenue Bar & Grill
- Café B
- Dat Dog
- Galatoire’s Restaurant
- Katie’s Restaurant
- Manning’s
- Ralph Brennan Catering
- Sac-a-Lait
- Zea Rotisserie & Bar
Some of the profits will go to the LRA Greater New Orleans Chapter’s annual Hospitality PAC and the LRA Education Foundation (LRAEF), which help with careers and education related to the restaurant industry.
