Steve Gleason and his wife, Michel, announced that they are expecting baby number two.
Gleason played for the Saints as a safety and special teams captain from 2000 to 2008, but in 2011 he publicly announced his ASL diagnosis, the same year his first son, Rivers, was born. But the neuromuscular disease hasn’t stopped him from living a fulfilling life and being transparent about his journey, and has even been in a documentary about his life with ASL.
He also uses his relative fame and fortune to help raise money and awareness for others with similar diseases and injuries through his Gleason Initiative Foundation and the Team Gleason organization.
With Michel, a contemporary artist and environmental and social activist, pregnant again (this time with a girl!), the Gleason team will get even bigger this October.
