Though attention has been turned to Star Wars as of late, CineConcerts is celebrating fifty action-packed years of another beloved space show: Star Trek. CineConcert’s Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage will visit more than 100 cities this Spring bringing a mixture of expertly performed live orchestral music based on the scores of the numerous Star Trek television series and films and an HD projection of clips and quotes from them. This multi-faceted experience highlights Star Trek’s moments of drama, comedy, wonder, terror, and pride for the exploration of the unknown for the betterment of humanity.
The large orchestra was framed by pieces of the Starship Enterprise that would glow and flash in colors appropriate to the mood and tempo of the piece. They were backlit by a sea of stars as scenes from the original series, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, The Wrath of Khan and every other Trek show filled the screen. My personal favorite scene and score played out in early in the show; Kirk and Spock are forced to fight each other in a sandy, barren pit.
Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage has so many stops on their tour that it you have no reason to miss out on it.
