UK trance/ambient /psychbent artist Shpongle (Simon Posford (aka Hallucinogen)) took his wondrous vision of electronic music and unbelievable visuals to the Civic Wednesday night. Coming along with him on his journey was Phutureprimitive, the glitch artist from San Francisco.
3D projection mapping was a centerpiece of the show, where the amazing visuals were projected onto Simon’s Shpongletron. The visuals were organic and embraced the music in a way that only Simon and company could imagine.
More often than not, electronic DJ’s come across bland and just tend to hide behind their gear. While a Sphongle show has that element, it goes beyond that standard with all the visuals.
