The attendees of the Saints vs. Falcons Kick-off Party were dressed to impress Friday night at The Little Gem Saloon. The Visage Ent Stelly Entertainment party hosted by Juvenile, Mystikal, Toya and 6 Shot, boasted bottle service, a VIP room stocked with wine and cheese plus DJ Raj Smooth spinning the hottest cuts. Before the night got poppin’, guests enjoyed drinks on The Little Gem’s balcony overlooking Poydras. With the summer heat finally on the outs, the mild fall evening and excitement in the air were both signs of the weekend’s upcoming kick-off.
“There have been a lot of negative things in the news lately,” says Toya Matthews, one of the party’s hostesses. “I wanted this party to be a positive collaboration of artist’s showing their support for New Orleans and for the Saints. New Orleans is a beautiful city with so much art, culture and really talented people. The goal is to take over the negative and show people a good time without altercations.”
As the night progressed, the positive vibe Toya mentioned was in full force. Even The Little Gem Saloon staff is trying not to twerk as they assist guests with another round. Mystikal, who was fashionably late, is in good spirits posing for pictures and even jumping on stage for an impromptu performance. During his short set, he pulled a friend from the audience to help with female vocals and the energy is off the hook. Thank you to The Little Gem Saloon and Visage Ent Stelly Entertainment for getting us ready for another great Saints season. Next Sunday can’t come soon enough.
