Yesterday (Oct. 18), New Orleans Saints Linebacker and 2015 first round pick — Stephone Anthony teamed up with local School Bus and Transportation Company, Hammond’s Transportation to kick off its School Bus Safety Tour. From Oct. 17 - 21, "National School Bus Safety Week is nationally reccognized. The purpose is to help promote and effectively communicate the awarness needed regarding children commuting to school through buses daily.
The kids of Kipp Central City Primary were beyond themselves when Anthony dropped by for a surprise appearance to get them excited about safety and a variety of topics such as “The Danger Zone," school bus etiquette and how to cross the street. Though these are often overlooked, they are extremely important to ensure the safety of children when traveling via bus CEO of Hammond's Transportation, Mark Hammond, said “It is imperative that we equip our kids with the tools necessary to keep them safe on the way to and from school. We are excited about partnering with Stephone to be the face of defending our children as we kick off this new program." The tour is one of many community outreach initiatives the company will continue to implement each year.
