Sabra recalled 30,000 cases of hummus over concerns that the hummus had a listeria contamination problem. Listeria is known to cause infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weak immune systems that could lead to death. The potential contamination was discovered in Michigan on March 30, when a random routine sample was collected and tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. The recall applies to about 360,000 containers of five variations of Sabra’s Classic Hummus.
