Ruby Rendrag, Suki Kuehn, and Michael Ennis, aka Ruby & The Rogues, are an up-and-coming New Orleans trio. The Ruby & The Rogues album is catchy with a smooth beat. There is an unexpected, but refreshing use of the cello, coupled with the guitar and the cajon, which create an overall great and calm album. The songs are mostly mellow, and soothing with a hint of classical rock, for example "Red Sea" on their album Ruby & The Rogues as well as "City of Gold." "Replaceable" is more of a fast paced song but still on the tamer side with a catchy course. Think of a mix between Amos Lee and Mumford & Sons. Overall, I think this is a perfect album for a lazy Sunday.
