A recent analysis by AAA found that car-hailing services are actually more expensive per year than car ownership. The study covered 20 major urban areas and found that the average cost of car ownership for a new vehicle is around $7,321 versus the average cost of ride-hailing services being around $20,500. Ride-hailing services cost more than double of what car ownership costs per year. This makes car ownership the more affordable option, even if it does not seem that way initially.
