Each year, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital hosts its Dream House Giveaway fundraiser, which greatly benefits the children at St. Jude and helps the hospital achieve its mission of "finding cures, saving children." In over 40 cities, $100 raffle tickets are sold that give participants the chance to win a brand-new home, cash prize, or even a car. This year's car for the New Orleans St. Jude's Dream House Fundraiser was a generous donation from the Ray Brandt Auto Group, a car dealer serving both Louisiana and Mississippi.
Since its creation in 1991, St. Jude's Dream House Giveaway fundraiser has raised over 460 million dollars. These proceeds have helped to ensure that families of the children at St. Jude's have never seen a bill for their children's treatment and haven't had to pay for housing, travel, or food.
Winners of the New Orleans giveaway were announced on June 17, 2021, which included a brand-new Lakeview home and a 2021 INFINITI Q50 donated by Ray Brandt Auto Group. Don Carter was chosen as the lucky winner of the new car and, thanks to his raffle ticket purchases, St. Jude will be able to continue its mission: finding cures, saving children.
