Amid business closures
and layoffs spurred by the pandemic, Second Harvest Food Bank has seen a massive
spike in public demand, nola.com reports. In order to
support this local hunger relief agency, Popeyes has committed to funding one million meals. The company
will use the revenue it generates from its new NOLA Strong package, which sells for $28 and includes a dozen pieces
of chicken, six biscuits, two sides, and a NOLA Strong-branded hat and t-shirt. Customers
can purchase these packs, available for
pickup or delivery at all locations, through the Popeyes app. They can
also buy apparel
separately at nola-strong.com.
In order to promote the
campaign, the fast food chain released a video featuring New Orleans actor Wendell Pierce. Popeyes has
also announced that it will make a significant contribution to the Big Easy-based
nonprofit Feed the Front
