Fillmore Music Halls, in partnership with Harrah’s Casino, unveiled plans for The Fillmore New Orleans, opening in early 2019, and celebrated the 50th anniversary of the founding of the iconic Fillmore West in San Francisco.

The Fillmore New Orleans, located on the second floor of Harrah’s Casino, will have a capacity of over 2,000 people and include reserved seating, unreserved bleacher seating, and two VIP platforms, creating a stadium feel that enhances stage visibility while maintaining “a really intimate experience for the fans as well as the artists,” said Ron Bension, president of Live Nation Clubs & Theaters.

Artwork and decorations throughout the venue will exhibit The Fillmore’s distinct style, such as one-of-a-kind concert posters and its famous chandeliers, along with “that New Orleans sensibility and vibe,” said Bension, such as reclaimed wrought iron gate, clapboard sidings, and gas street lanterns. Exemplifying this mash-up will be an art display, featured in the lobby, of a watercolor of Louis Armstrong on a canvas of Fillmore posters.

Beyond providing an intimate, yet expansive music-watching experience and an environment that encourages guests to hang out before and after the show, The Fillmore New Orleans will offer eats that go beyond your typical venue menu, such as Popcorn Creole Shrimp, a Charcuterie Bento Box (vegetarian version available), and the Impossible Double Cheeseburger, a vegetarian burger suitable for a meat lover.
