In spite of
the COVID-19 pandemic, New Orleanians are refusing to let their Carnival spirit
be diminished. This year, in place of the traditional Mardi Gras festivities, the
surrounding communities will embrace fun, innovative, and safe activities to celebrate
this Carnival season. One of these activities includes a "Show Us Your Mardi
Gras" contest, which requires participants to post a picture of themselves or their
family celebrating Mardi Gras in 2021 or in times past to the Visit Jefferson Parish Facebook page. Whoever has the most liked photo
will win a $300 gift basket filled with local delicacies. So, if you are in the
Mardi Gras mood and have a photo that you would like to use, consider entering
the Show Me Your Mardi Gras contest.
If you would
like to enter the contest, you must first like the Visit Jefferson Parish Facebook page, then submit your picture as a private
message to the page. All contest participants must include their name, address,
birthday, phone number, and email under the photo submitted. Only one entry per
household is allowed, and you must own the rights to the photo you are choosing
to submit to the contest. Lastly, have your family and friends like the
Jefferson Paris Facebook page and then like your photo, which will appear in
the Show Us Your Mardi Gras Contest
Photo Album, to get as many likes as possible, so that you can have a chance to win
the Jefferson Parish goodie basket.
This goodie
basket is filled with local treats that any New Orleanian would adore,
including four tickets to a NOLA Gold Rugby game, two 16-ounce bags of Parish
Coffee, $20-$25 gift cards to local restaurants, signature seasonings, and gear
from Raising Cane's. If you are excited about these prizes, make sure you
adhere to the contest rules to ensure that your chances at winning these
goodies are high.
The contest
will take place between Monday, January 18, and Wednesday, February 10. The
last day to submit your photo is Sunday, February 3, by 5:00 p.m. All participants
must be 18 years or older to enter. The last day to vote (to like a photo) will
be on Wednesday, February 10, and the winner will be announced on Thursday,
February 11. The purpose of this contest is to bring strength, togetherness,
and Mardi Gras cheer to communities across Southeast Louisiana, so dig up your
best Mardi Gras selfie and enter the contest.
