So this is how concerts will go in the future! Parachute performed at the Aloft Hotel in the CBD this week to a pretty packed house who was eager to hear their modern brand of indie rock. Ladies and gentlemen, mostly young ladies, were pretty exicted to catch a glimpse of the Virginia band with Will Anderson manning the mic and the guitar and Kit French playing the keys. The show was a bit more low key, and they were without their drummer Johnny Stubblefield, but it was the perfect sound for a fancy hotel lobby. The entire show was live streamed for those who couldn't be there as well, and Coca Cola donated some glass bottles of Coke Classic, Coke Zero and Diet Coke with the band's name and #AloftLive printed on the labels. I believe this is the first official concert I've seen at a hotel, but I think I'll keep an eye on Aloft's events and make it out to the next one for sure.
