"Royal Splash Pool Party" of the Summer
The Omni Royal New Orleans made a big splash over the holiday weekend with the first of their new summer Royal Splash Pool Parties series of at their rooftop La Riviera Pool—open free to the public.
With temps topping 90 degrees and predicted rain holding off, the Royal Splash Pool Party attracted a cross-section of New Orleanian locals and Omni Royal hotel guests. Excited to soak in the sun and beat the heat in the cool water of the La Riviera Pool, the festive gathering was filled with laughter, new connections, and bouncing inflatable beach balls as a DJ kept the party going.
The kickoff event was sponsored by Branson Cognac, with specialty craft
cocktails available such as a Coconut Sidecar and Cognac Marg.
Beyond the La Riviera Pool's party menu from the hotel's on-site Rib Room, a pool-side grill was also available serving BBQ ribs, hamburgers, and hot dogs, along with baked beans in a true Memorial Day weekend tradition.
The patio observatory one story above the pool deck was also open for party-goers. The elevated sitting area affords commanding 360-degree panoramas of the city, including the French Quarter, Tremé, CBD, and even the "Big Easy" turn of the meandering Mississippi River from the Crescent City Connection bridge down past the city's Holy Cross neighborhood.
Based on availability, special day-rate rooms are available for locals—especially with families—who may not need to stay overnight but prefer accommodations beyond the pool's locker rooms. Upgrade rates can extend the stay overnight if the cocktail specials sound better than driving home. While this can be spontaneous, rooms can be reserved in advance noting the Royal Splash Pool parties.
At least three more Royal Splash Pool Parties are planned, with the next scheduled for July Fourth weekend. Event hours are 11a.m. to 6 p.m.
