Hostile Work Environment - Hostile Work Environment

Art for Art's Sake was a huge success! Stores and galleries were filled with people enjoying the mass amounts of art and free in-store entertainment. Now that the punk club Siberia has the license to entertain with live music, they have already filled up their calendar with great acts.

I'm going to see the Darius Rucker and Better than Ezra concert at the L'Auberge Hotel and Casino in Baton Rouge this Friday, but for those staying in NOLA, you can see the hardcore punk show at Siberia featuring Reagen Youth and Dust Angel, as well as your locals Classhole, The Pallbearers, and Nagin Youth. The show starts at 10 p.m. and costs $10.

This Saturday is the beginning of the Deutsches Haus's annual Oktoberfest! The beer, polka, and bratwurst will flow from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m. at Rivertown in Kenner on Williams Blvd. and goes on for three weeks in October. There will be a 5K run and a Corvette show on this Saturday. There will also be wine and beer tastings for $30. The entrance fee is $6. You're going to want to go back to Siberia the next night to see Where Y'at photo contributor Gary LoVerde and his first ever showcase called Hostile Work Environment from 6-9 p.m. The photos are taken at concerts in which the crowd usually gets rowdy. You'll still have time after the showing to attend the mini hip hop fest Loyolapalooza at the Big Top on Clio St. Artists Lyriqs da Lyracriss, Mastermind Einstein, Josh Gotoy, RODO, Shay Briggs and more will begin the show at 8 p.m.

Since it's the Saint's byweek, you should get out and get some fresh air at the last day of the Louisiana Seafood Fest at Woldenberg Park on the riverfront going from mid day until late at night. There is no admission, and there will be tons of great food and free music on two stages including Flow Tribe, Pony Space, Benjy Davis and so many more. You can see the entire three days of fest events at Louisianaseafoodfestival.com.

This Tuesday marks the return of the blackened thrash band taking the metal scene by storm Skeletonwitch to New Orleans with also popular thrashers Havok, with death metallers Early Graves and our local boys Fat Stupid Ugly People. The show is at 10 p.m. and costs $12.
